"Ask the experienced rather than the learned," - Jewish Proverb

"Let's review the year just ended:
Have I acted like a shnorrer,
  Always asking for a buck?
Have I gossiped like a Yenta?
Do my friends think I'm a Schmuck?.."

Holiday menu from Judy Zeidler

When it comes to Jewish holidays, I think every family has a story, just as every recipe has a story. Most recipes don’t just appear on the table as a dish …. Often they are handed down from generation to generation.

As long as I can remember we always celebrated all the Jewish Holidays with the family. When my husband, Marvin and I were a young married couple we continued to observe and celebrate the holidays. As our family grew we realized how important it was, having 5 children, who grew up on a ranch in a rual area in Malibu, where there were very few Jeish people in the area, we wanted them to know their heritage.
